1. Mao was a child bride, 13-14 yr old, from Laos to BV; then moved to USA.
2. Mao went back to Ban Vinai (BV). Hmong people gathered to see her give a speech.
3.At this time, many Hmong were debating about moving to the USA. The UN encouraged Mao to speak about life in the USA to encourage them to come to the USA. The audience asked Mao questions. Lots of questions were about health (autopsy “Meskas noj neeg”), rumors (father goes to work, mom cheats), etc
4. Women/people came to Mao with envelopes, asking her if she lives near their relatives
