1. There were no playgrounds. Children had to come up with creative ways to play, such as rubber band jump rope, hopscotch, sepak takraw, house playing, shaman playing, bug catching, top spinning, wooden cart riding, and more. Children played anywhere and everywhere in the camp they could.

Minors was established as a 501 (c) (3) Organization at Mankato, Minnesota, in 1984, originally as Minors In Need Of Resettlement, to provide family reunification and related assistance to orphaned and abandoned children in refugee camps in Thailand.
